2017 Nissan Rogue vs 2017 Honda CR-V near Aurora, IL

2017 Nissan Rogue vs 2017 Honda CR-V near Aurora, IL

Vehicle shown above is the 2017 Nissan Rogue SL in Pearl White.

The compact SUV segment is flooded with choices, but there’s one that truly stands apart: the 2017 Nissan Rogue. To see how it stacks up to the competition, we at Thomas Nissan of Joliet have created a comparison between the Rogue and the 2017 Honda CR-V. And, in more ways than one, the Nissan Rogue takes the cake!

To start off this friendly battle, we’ll take a look at how these SUVs compare in terms of exterior amenities. Driving in the Midwestern winters is brutal enough, and the Rogue outfits a handy capability to help ease the burden: heated side mirrors. Not only does this function melt away snow and ice in no time at all, but it’s also offered on every trim level. The Honda CR-V can’t quite say the same, as it only equips this ability in top models. Furthermore, the Nissan Rogue also features roof rails1 as optional on every trim, providing you with an extra spot to place cargo. Once again, the CR-V only integrates these in its higher models.

The next section that will be discussed is innovation. Although both models boast some pretty impressive features, the Nissan Rogue comes out on top overall. Standard in all models are three 12-volt power outlets, which supply you with electricity at a moment’s notice for your phones, laptops, and the like. Those in the Honda CR-V will only have access to two 12-volt power outlets in each model. Additionally, an element that you’re bound to fully appreciate is the Remote Engine Start System with Intelligent Climate Control2 that is found in the Rogue. This available amenity lets you warm up or cool down the cabin prior to your entrance, completely eliminating the discomfort that comes with a brutally cold or painfully hot interior. You’ll be hard-pressed to find any feature like this in the CR-V, as it doesn’t offer such a function at all.

When it comes to versatility, the Rogue certainly steps up to the plate. The Nissan Rogue and the Honda CR-V harbor ample space and configuration capability inside, but the Rogue does one better by offering a third-row seat. With this intact, your seating increases from five to seven. You also won’t lose out on cargo space, as there is still an abundant 9.4 cubic ft. of trunk room1 to fit your belongings. Unfortunately, the Honda CR-V caps out at just seating for five—there is no option for a third row in any trim level. The Rogue also boasts an EZ FLEX™ Seating System in the second row, allowing you to fold, slide, and recline the bench nearly effortlessly. There is also a Divide-N-Hide® Cargo System1 to further optimize your cargo capabilities. The CR-V doesn’t offer such features in any model.

This concludes our matchup of the 2017 Nissan Rogue vs 2017 Honda CR-V near Aurora, IL, and it’s evidently clear that the Rogue takes home the win! To experience what else it has in store, visit us at Thomas Nissan of Joliet! We are located at 1427 North Larkin Avenue in Joliet, IL.
