Nissan Titan dealership

Taking its name from the Titans of Greek mythology, the Nissan Titan lives up to its name as a pre-Olympian god. The Titan is one of the highest-value trucks in America today because of its capability, versatility, and innovation. It’s a workhorse that can easily navigate a busy metropolis, cruise at highway speeds, and tow heavy loads. This is what makes it a best-seller and is why so many customers look to us, the team here at Thomas Nissan of Joliet, as their Nissan Titan dealership.

We’re excited to show you everything the Titan has to offer and how we can help make your Nissan dreams come true. What Is the Nissan Titan?

With automakers like Ford and Chevrolet leading the truck segment with the F-150 and Silverado, Nissan knew it was time to up the ante. Americans deserved an alternative that offered more luxury, innovation, and capability, all of which Nissan vowed to deliver. Nissan set out to do exactly that and started designing the Titan in the late 1990s.

The Titan made its official debut in late 2003 and brought Nissan’s vision to life. Built on the same F-Alpha platform as the full-size Nissan Armada SUV, the Titan was truly exceptional and earned high praise across the industry. Its capability, spaciousness, and sophisticated style, along with its exclusive features, distinguished the truck from its major competitors. These features included everything from Bluetooth capability and a DVD entertainment system to a sunroof, power-adjustable pedals, and an off-road package that readied the Titan for adventures both on and off the pavement.

Aside from a mid-cycle refresh in 2008, the Titan remained untouched until 2015, when Nissan redesigned the truck for its second generation. The new Titan lineup saw the addition of the larger Titan XD, which offered more towing and hauling capabilities courtesy of the Cummins turbo-diesel engine under its hood. The rest of the Titan lineup enjoyed boosts in power with upgrades to the engines along with a new suite of innovative technology and entertainment features, including a premium sound system and Nissan’s exclusive infotainment system.

As with the first-generation Titan, the second-generation Titan underwent a mid-cycle refresh in 2020. The refresh saw the discontinuation of the regular cab model from the Titan and Titan XD lineups as well as the end of the Titan XD King Cab. Nissan did away with the Cummins turbo-diesel engine for the XD, leaving a powerful V8 in its place. Other additions to the truck included LED lighting, enhanced safety, and driver-assist tools, and an optional panoramic sunroof.

2021 Nissan Titan and Titan XD

The Titan and Titan XD continue to impress with a 2021 lineup that promises more capability, more power, and more innovation. The Titan gets off to a great start and offers the most standard power in its class. This is courtesy of a 5.6-liter V8 engine under the hood that’s mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission to deliver 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. This power is behind the Titan’s exceptional capability with the XD capable of towing up to 11,040 pounds or hauling a payload of up to 2,240 pounds, while the Titan can tow up to 9,310 pounds or a payload of 1,690 pounds.

The 2021 Titan also excels when it comes to safety and technology, offering the most in its class. The Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite of safety and driver-assist features six advanced tools:

  • Intelligent Forward Collision Warning
  • Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection
  • Blind Spot Warning
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert
  • Rear Sonar System
  • High Beam Assist
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Rear Automatic Braking

Other available safety technology includes:

  • Intelligent Forward Collision Warning
  • Intelligent Around View Monitor
  • Intelligent Cruise Control
  • Front Sonar System
  • Traffic Sign Recognition

There’s also no shortage of connectivity technology on the 2021 Titan, which makes your time behind the wheel safer and more enjoyable. The standard 8-inch touchscreen display is the largest standard touchscreen in the segment and can be updated to a 9-inch screen with widescreen WXGA resolution. Through the screen, you can sync your smartphone via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, access the WiFi hotspot, navigate the quickest route, or reach out to the Nissan Concierge, which is an assistant available around the clock to help you with everything from making hotel reservations and scheduling appointments to shopping for gifts.
